A helicopter crash near Ukraine’s capital of Kyiv has killed at least 14 people including Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyi and a child.
There is no direct suggestion of Russian involvement in the crash.
Monastyrskyi is the most senior Ukrainian figure killed since the war began. Several other officials were also killed.

Ukraine’s security service said it was investigating a number of possible causes for the crash including technical malfunction and sabotage.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy did not claim direct Russian involvement, but suggested it was “not an accident because… there are no accidents at wartime. These are all war results.”
Zelenskyy described the pain of the deaths as “unspeakable”.
Update on the war
The main focus of fighting is the city of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine. Russian forces have been trying to capture Bakhmut for several months, but have launched a fresh offensive.
Last weekend, there was also a deadly missile attack on an apartment building in the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro, which killed at least 30 people. Russia has been launching a barrage of missile attacks across Ukraine seeking to damage energy infrastructure.
