Iran and the United States have agreed to halt recent hostilities and renew talks regarding their dispute over the Strait of Hormuz, raising ‌hopes of saving the peace deal that had been under pressure from days of strikes. Australia and Vanuatu have signed a security deal, months after the island nation’s Government backed away from the agreement over concerns about its independence.
