Manchester City's financial scandal, explained for non-football fans

Between 2009 and 2018, Manchester City won three Premier League titles. Last week, an independent commission found that over those same seasons, the club made its owner's money look like sponsorship income and kept some costs off its books. City says that's wrong and has appealed. Today, we're explaining what the commission found, what City says, and what happens next.
