Mitch Brown on the AFL, a year after coming out

In 129 years of AFL, no male player, past or present, had ever publicly identified as gay or bisexual. That changes one year ago today, when 94 game West Coast veteran Mitch Brown sat down with TDA.

A few days before that chat, Mitch had messaged TDA saying he was ready to share his story. Mitch’s courage marked a turning point in Aussie sport - but with another AFL scandal dominating headlines a year on, how much has really changed?
